What will the whole care plan cost?

Ask for the full cost before agreeing to a visit or a plan.

Ask for medicine and care costs as separate amounts.

The visit, any tests and the medicine are separate parts feeding into the full cost.
The visit + any tests + the medicine

What affects the full price of a care plan?

Get a written cost list from the service you are thinking of using. Compare the same product, the same package and the same included care.

As of September 26, 2026, drug makers’ prices without insurance for several weight-loss and diabetes medicines were mostly $149 to $499 per month.

For some products, a late refill brings a higher price.

The amount supplied for a month differs by product.

These are recorded medicine prices, not a price for a care visit. Ask who can get the price, whether it is a discount and when it ends.

Ask for the price of the exact prescription and package being offered to you.

Which parts do I ask them to price?

Request a separate answer for each part:

  • The first health check and any later visits.
  • The medicine or skin product.
  • Any tests that are proposed.
  • Any delivery charge or ongoing membership.

Ask what is included, what is optional and what will keep being charged. Get the terms for ending a plan before agreeing to it.

Why might a low price change later?

Records from September 26, 2026 list several drug-maker offers and savings cards ending on December 31, 2026.

That written offer has an end date; it does not forecast the next price. Ask what applies after the discount ends.

If a price depends on getting a refill by a certain date, ask what a late refill would cost. Compare that answer with the advertised price.

Will insurance pay?

Give your insurance plan the precise medicine name, its form and the condition being treated, and ask about coverage. Request the amount you would pay yourself.

Medicare can cover some weight-loss medicines when prescribed for another condition, such as diabetes, as of September 26, 2026.

Medicare rules that permit coverage of a medicine do not guarantee payment from your own plan, as of September 26, 2026.

A plan may use its medicine list and prior authorization, meaning approval from the plan before it pays.

Ask whether any visits and tests are covered too. Keep the answers about each part separate.

The US Food and Drug Administration is abbreviated FDA.

Compounded medicines are made for a patient’s needs, with no FDA approval; this is their status on September 26, 2026. FDA: compounded medicines

If a cheaper compounded product is proposed, ask why it meets your medical need and what rules allow it. Price alone leaves those questions open.
